Due to the nature of "No Limit" Texas Hold Em, there are things to bear in mind in your no limit hold em strategy that will be different than your common hold em poker strategy.

There is a significant difference between limit and no limit Texas hold em and this difference is centered around the station you have at the playing table and upon the value of the hands.

While you are playing no limit hold em you will notice that position is much more important than in the limit games. The reason is quite understandable actually since there is no limit so more money is involved and the strategies you take depend on your position and they will have a larger effect on your bankroll.

If in some way you manage to get someone into a position trap you will then have an opportunity to get that person痴 entire stack, not only a few more bets as in Limit hold em.

In no limit poker the big connectors are not to be played as they hold a much slighter value overall: they can cause you to win but just small amounts of money and they can also cause you to lose greatly. If we are talking pairs, they increase their value consistently in no limit Texas hold em. They present you the chance to trap someone (notably the big pairs) and they can get you the entire bankroll of those people or simply double the value of the pot over a betting round.

While playing no limit you must before all keep an efficient list of all money spent by you and your opponents. Fluctuations in the stack impact the whole hand and you have got to be aware of that.

So pay attention to all amounts of money players have on the table and to the pot size consistently. The game here is about leaving the others with no money on the table not merely about winning little pots and hands.

Let痴 use an example to better establish how and why the amount of money each player has on the table is so significant.

Let痴 just assume you now have $250 and another player has $25. You are playing a game with blinds of $1 to $2. Your position is the small blind and the cards you have are QJ suited. Your opponent is in the opening position and he goes all-in. All of the other players ponder the risk and elect to fold, as strategy mandates in this case. Now, you are faced with a problem: to call and venture $24 for his $25 bet or to simply fold like the circumstance requires.

Betting for that kind of money, almost the exact amount, is an unwarranted risk that you should not assume. If however your opponent would have had an amount of $250 just like you have, then the risk can be acceptable as you would be risking the money for 10 times the value.

As you can see, your hold em poker strategy needs to be customized to the circumstances when playing a no limit poker game. The difference in the flow of money means you must cultivate a distinct no limit holdem strategy based upon this and other factors.
